Low and Slow Turkey Chili/recipe

Makes: 8 servings



1 pound ground turkey

1 15-ounce can black beans, drained and rinsed

1 15-ounce can kidney beans, drained and rinsed

1 15-ounce can northern white beans, drained and rinsed

½ yellow onion, diced

2 15-ounce cans diced tomatoes, drained

1 cup tomato sauce

1 red or yellow bell pepper, diced

2 teaspoons chili powder

2 teaspoons cumin

1 teaspoon garlic powder

salt and pepper to taste

Add hot sauce to taste after cooking



Add a teaspoon of olive oil to a large skillet, cook ground turkey until no longer pink. Remove turkey from pan, place in a large pot or slow cooker. Add diced onions to pans and sauté until soft. Once cooked, add onions to the pot. Add the remainder of ingredients to pot and mix well. Cook on low for 6 hours or on stovetop over medium heat for 2 hours.
